Our small pediatric occupational therapy practice provides personalized occupational therapy for children to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities through individualized, play-based interventions. We will work with families to create personalized treatment plans focusing on your child's strengths and goals, using evidence-informed strategies to foster independence, confidence, and participation in childhood occupations.
Here are some things that we can do:
Develop Skills: We will help children with fine motor and visual motor challenges, such as hand-eye coordination, using tools (pencils, scissors), and making sense of their environment.
Improve Daily Living: We will work on self-care routines like dressing, eating, and personal hygiene to build independence.
Address Sensory Needs: We will use sensory activities and may incorporate specific equipment to help children process sensory information from their environments.
Promote Fine and Gross Motor Skills: We will play and participate in activities using tweezers, Play-Doh, puzzles, and other fine motor games to strengthen hands and improve coordination.
Incorporate Play-Based Therapy: We will use child-led and play-based approaches to make our sessions engaging and effective.
Here are some examples of activities that you may see:
Fine Motor: Using tweezers to pick up small objects, playing with Play-Doh to build hand strength, or putting beads on a string to make a necklace.
Gross Motor: Going through an obstacle course, pulling a weighted blanket, using a scooter board, or playing games that involve jumping and hopping.
Sensory: Exploring sensory bins, using shaving cream on a mirror, or engaging in activities with varied textures like mixing batter, kneading dough, or making slime.
